Kanye Wants to Warholize Kim

Before I get into this story, who else thinks that this is totally a thing that 30 Rock's Jenna Maroney would say? "I'm going to be warholized. I hired Andy Warhol...(*lengthypause*)...'s cousin to paint me." When Kanye West starts to do the same things that Jenna Maroney would do, perhaps it's time to start questioning what it means to be a celebrity in this day and age. But anyway — on with the post. According to Time, Kanye West has hired Andy Warhol's cousin to paint Kim Kardashian, because Andy Warhol died in 1987, and Yeezus hasn't yet perfected the art of resurrection.

Luckily for him, though, it seems that Warhol's cousin — Monica Warhol, an artist based in Tuscon, AZ — is totally into it. "She’s an icon... Kim is beautiful. She’s so manufactured. She looks like a human Barbie," Monica told the New York Post in reference to Kardashian. "She’s famous for nothing. Andy would have loved her."

Well, she has a point there — Warhol did famously say in 1968, "In the future, everyone will be world-famous for 15 minutes." Kim's at about 30 minutes now, so Warhol might have been fascinated with her, or possibly enamored with all the leopard print she used to wear. That said, though, once has to admit: This is a pretty ridiculous way to spend all that "Yeezus" money.

Anyway, you can check out samples of Monica's work at her website. Spoiler alert: At first glance, it looks pretty much like Andy Warhol's work — only of Flo Rida.
