Should Kaitlyn Get Married On TV Or Not?

by Nicole Pomarico

As sad as I am to see it go, it's officially over. On Monday night, Kaitlyn Bristowe's Bachelorette season finale aired. This is both a good and bad thing for so many reasons — good in that we finally know that Kaitlyn ends up with Shawn but bad in that we won't get to see her on our TVs every Monday night anymore. But wait. Is there a chance she might return to ABC for her wedding? After all, she did fall in love on reality television, so it'd be kinda appropriate if she decided to kick off her marriage the same way. But if you're hoping Kaitlyn's wedding will be on TV, you might not want to get too excited just yet. From where I'm standing, I definitely don't see it happening.

As awesome as Kaitlyn is on camera (and how perfect her jokes are), I just can't imagine she'd choose to get married on TV, especially since when ABC pays for your wedding they generally like to call some of the shots here and there. I can't see low-key Kaitlyn choosing to have the elaborate affair that inevitably accompanies the idea of a TV wedding. Even though Kaitlyn feels like my BFF, we don't actually know each other, so I could be totally wrong. But from what I know about her, I'd picture her wedding being intimate and cozy with only her closest friends and family with plenty of dancing, a long, boho chic dress, and no cameras whatsoever.

And besides, her chosen guy, Shawn? I can't see him wanting a whole elaborate TV thing happening, especially since he didn't seem like such a huge fan of being on The Bachelorette in the first place.

Besides, it doesn't seem like ABC has been too into televising the weddings of their Bachelor couples lately. Sure, Sean and Catherine might've said their I dos on national television, but when it came time for Desiree Hartsock to marry her Bachelorette pick, Chris Siegfried, ABC wasn't into it even though Chris and Desiree wanted to involve their fans. Sure, Lacy Faddoul and Marcus Grodd will be tying the knot on next Sunday's Bachelor in Paradise premiere, but an actual Bachelorette wedding seems like something the network's been trying to avoid these days.

And if Kaitlyn does decide to say her vows on camera? I'll be pleasantly surprised, and super excited to watch. Is it just me, or does this girl need a reality series of her own? I'd be glued to it. ABC, get on that!
