Third Time's a Charm?

by Kaitlin Reilly

Good news, everybody! Paul Rudd is hosting Saturday Night Live this week with musical guest One Direction, which means that now you actually have a reason to watch Saturday Night Live. This will be Paul Rudd's third time hosting SNL. Rudd will be promoting the long-awaited sequel to Anchorman — let's hope that means that he gets behind the table for Weekend Update.

It's been way too long since we've seen Rudd in action — his last comedic role was in This is the End, which came out this past summer. While we're sure that Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues will be worth the wait, we're glad that Rudd is giving us some laughs on SNL before the Anchorman sequel is released on December 18.

And it seems that Rudd is already working his comedic magic in the new promos for this week's SNL. The latest promos feature Paul Rudd and SNL comedian Vanessa Bayer shooting several takes of the promo script, and it's basically exactly what we expect from Rudd for his latest SNL venture. Watch as Rudd fangirls over One Direction, forgets Vanessa Bayer's name, and fades out to an American flag in the latest clips. We're so excited that this weekend, we may actually watch SNL live (as opposed to fast-forwarding through all of the too-long sketches... hey, it's on pretty late).
