Olivia Palermo Wears This Label Every Day

by Jessica Willingham

Have you ever wanted to peek inside a socialite’s closet? Vestiaire Collective has teamed up with British Vogue and Olivia Palermo to share the style star’s closet, her style tips, and how she approaches her own personal fashion choices. Although this fashionista's style is picture perfect, Olivia Palermo considers leather pants a wardrobe staple, much like Mick Jagger. Who would've thought?

Palermo is an American socialite that got her start in The City, a docu-series about Whitney Port and her fashionable friends. Palermo has done it all, from interning at Elle to modeling under a Wilhelmenia contract. Today, she runs a style blog and website, and is often found sitting in the front row of major fashion labels' shows and hanging out in Milan, Paris, and New York for fashion weeks.

In the Vogue video, Palermo said she thinks the number one thing you need in your closet are leather pants. It’s a bold declaration, and I expected the usually very classy Palermo to pick something less rock and roll. But, as you’ll see in the video, she can be surprising like that.

Here are six more surprising things I learned about Palermo from the video.

1. A white chiffon button down is everything

It works for literally any occasion, and is an office staple. If it's well steamed and well cared for, you'll be in a loving, longterm relationship.

2. You can mix uptown with rock and roll

Palermo confesses mixing classier pieces with something unexpected, like a fringe clutch.

3. Tibi FTW

While she loves Valentino and Dior, Palermo says she wears something by Tibi every single day. She fan girls hard.

4. She steams her shoes

According to Palermo, "bad shoes can ruin an entire outfit." She admits to steaming and combing her mohawk hair shoes on the regular.

5. She's a perfectionist

It's all about the details, she says. "Of course there's only a certain level of perfection one can achieve."

6. Never Wear A Bad Suit

Her biggest fashion faux pas is an ill fitting suit, and bad shoes. Better nail that 9-5 look, ladies!
