Determined Husband Posts Adorable Lost Book Flyer

Every book-lover has had the heartbreaking experience of losing a particularly beloved book: the novel signed by your favorite author that your brother borrowed and never gave back, the gift from a dear friend that you left in a hotel, or the childhood keepsake that disappeared into the depths of your parents' basement. My personal book-related tragedy occurred when my dog-eared, falling-apart copy of In the Hands of the Goddess somehow went missing in my move to college. I spent years searching every used bookstore I went into for a replacement copy — when I finially found one, I let out an audible, and embarrassing, yelp of joy.

In Brooklyn, a particularly determined (and devoted) husband has taken the search for a lost book one step further. After inadvertently getting rid of his wife's treasured paperback of Are You There, God? It's Me, Margaret, this rather clever fellow printed up "lost book" flyers and posted them around the neighborhood.

The text reads as follows:

LOST BOOK!!!!!!!!

I accidentally gave this book away on Saturday July 25th in a box on the corner of Green & Franklin streets in Greenpoint. The book is extremely important to my wife. It was keepsake from her mother and is irreplaceable. On the inside cover is a note that says Christmas 1991. If you happened to pick up this book can you please get in touch with me.
