Kelly Clarkson's Latest Tour Covers, Ranked

by Alex Kritselis

I'll always remember July 2015 as that magical time Kelly Clarkson blessed the world with a slew of amazing song covers. Ah, so many memories. As the month draws to a close, I think we need to look back, appreciate, and (of course) rank the fantastic Kelly Clarkson Piece by Piece Tour covers we've heard so far. Yes, it's going to be a tough job — but someone has to do it! By now, everyone knows Clarkson is an incredible vocalist, so it's not surprising that she's so good at singing other artists' songs. (I mean, hello, she won the first season of American Idol doing exactly that!) What is surprising, however, is just how many of her covers actually end up being better than the original tracks themselves. What can I say? The now 33-year-old artist has a magic touch.

(Side note: I honestly do not understand how Clarkson hasn't released a covers album yet. I think it would be relatively easy to put together, and fans would eat it up! It would be a great way to make the wait for her next original LP a little more bearable, too. Are you listening, RCA? Please??)

Here's my ranking of the 12 impressive covers Kelly Clarkson has done on her Piece by Piece Tour so far:

#12. Nick Jonas — "Jealous"

It's definitely a lot of fun, it's just not my favorite. (Ugh, this is going to be really difficult.)

#11. Elvis — "Can't Help Falling In Love"

So sweet.

#10. Tori Kelly — "Nobody Love"

I love that Clarkson is just as big of a Tori Kelly fan as I am.

#9. *NSYNC — "Bye Bye Bye"

Those belts at the end, though!

#8. Taylor Swift — "Blank Space"

I really dig the new arrangement.

#7. Imagine Dragons — "Radioactive"

Clarkson's voice fits this song like a glove. Like a glove!

#6. Ellie Goulding — "Love Me Like You Do"

I'm such a sucker for "Love Me Like You Do." It just does something to me.

#5. The Beatles — "With A Little Help From My Friends"

The end of this performance will give you chills.

#4. Tove Lo — "Habits"

Clarkson stays pretty true to the original here, but her voice still makes it special. ("Habits" is such a great track.)

#3. Rihanna — "Stay"

Wow. Just... wow.

#2. Betty Hutton — "Stuff Like That There"

Clarkson crushes this tune every single time.

#1. Miley Cyrus — "Wrecking Ball"

Sing it, Kelly!
