Steal Lena Dunham's Hamptons Style

by Rosie Narasaki

Even though she seems to always be doing a million things at once, Lena Dunham found some extra time in her schedule recently for an important cause. Lena Dunham headed to the Hamptons to support breast cancer research, and wore the most awesome outfit probably ever to do so. The Girls creator/star attended the Hamptons Paddle and Party in Pink fundraiser, where she competed in the 3-mile paddleboard race (which almost ended in disaster — luckily, pro-surfer Laird Hamilton was there to save the day) and gave a speech on women's health, all while dressed in a gorgeous (and thematic) bright pink shift dress, paired with some absolutely killer pom-pom'd shoes. Now, unfortunately, we can't all get heroically rescued by Laird Hamilton whilst paddleboarding in the name of breast cancer research in the Hamptons... but we can take some summer style tips from Ms. Dunham.

Lena often takes flak for her kooky personal style, but in my book, it doesn't get much better than breezy neons and quirky statement shoes (or layer cake-esque Giambattista Valli, as the case may be). Now, if you're blessed with a large amount of disposable income, you might want to copy her look down to the letter (her Lisa Perry frock is still available online, but it will run you up almost $1K), but for the rest of us? Well, we can always go the fast fashion route.

Let's take a look at the look in question — then get to the shopping!
