'RHOBH' Star Kim Richards Has Been Arrested Again

by Kenya Foy

The week hasn't gotten off to the best start for former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kim Richards, who was arrested for reportedly shoplifting items from a Target store in Van Nuys, Calif. on Sunday. According to ABC News, the 50-year-old reality star and sister of RHOBH cast mate Kyle Richards, was detained by members of the store's prevention loss team and eventually booked into the Van Nuys police station for allegedly stashing more than $600 worth of merchandise. In the meantime, E! Online reports that Richards was released on $5000 bail Monday morning, but formal charges have yet to be filed.

This isn't the first time Richards had a brush with the law. Back in June, the reality star pleaded not guilty to charges of public intoxication, trespassing, resisting an officer, and battery on a police officer, which stemmed from an incident that took place in April where Richards was reportedly involved in a fight at the Beverly Hills Hotel. As a result, she checked into rehab, but, according to TMZ, left the treatment center after staying more than 30 days because of alleged disagreements with the doctors and staff. Richards spoke on her sobriety and her decision to checked into rehab treatment after the April arrest, telling Entertainment Tonight:

I went in and I got to learn a whole lot about myself. I dug deep into my past, things that happened to me as a child, good and bad, teenage years, relationships with all my loved ones, where they need to be mended, where they're very powerful. I worked on me.

In addition to taking the necessary steps to maintain her sobriety, Richards' load was made even heavier by the fact that she serves as the caretaker for her ailing ex-husband Monty Brinson. Clearly, that would be a lot to bear for anyone in that situation, but combining that with Richards' ongoing road to recovery obviously makes for a more difficult experience. That said, this only confirms that Richards not returning to RHOBH was definitely a decision made with her best interest in mind. Hopefully, now she can devote all of her time to continuing to work on herself with the support of friends and family.
