Meghan King Edmonds Names Her 'RHOC' BFFs

Watching a reality TV show differs immensely from actually starring on the show. For some, watching the show is just a hypothetical situation. Who would you be friends with? Who would you butt heads with? Would the fans love or hate you? But, for Meghan King Edmonds, who joined Real Housewives of Orange County this season, she wasn't so in-tune with the women on the series to know exactly what to expect. "I was never an avid fan," Edmonds tells Bustle, "I bought Season 9 and watched maybe half... and I watched the reunion."

Can we first of all praise Edmonds for still sticking to the commitment of joining Season 10 after watching the terrifying Season 9 reunion? If those episodes weren't meant to make a prospective Real Housewife run for the Hollywood Hills, I don't know what would.

Edmonds says that before starting the show, she thought a lot of the drama was planned. "I'd think, 'That can't be real,'" but once she was on RHOC, she was shocked to find out that "nothing was coerced and everything happens organically."

Although everything has happened organically, it all hasn't happened positively. In fact, Edmonds says that the fan response has been more negative than she expected. "I wasn't expecting to be the mean girl," she says, "and I kind of think I got pegged that way."

Although it's all subjective, since many fans of the show love Edmonds' presence on the 10th season, it's nice to have a support team made up of people who know what you're going through. For Edmonds, that's Tamra Judge and Heather Dubrow.

"Heather and Tamra are very 'what you see is what you get,'" Edmonds says. She also adds that are really good listeners who always tell the truth. "If they have something to say, they mean it."

Being a Real Housewife be tricky at times, so it's great that Edmonds has people to support her through some of the feuds RHOC is known for. Every woman needs a great group of girlfriends, whether they're famous or not — and Edmonds' RHOC group is definitely #squadgoals.
