Louboutin Is Launching A Lipstick Collection

Luxury shoe designer Christian Louboutin is releasing a namesake lipstick line, marking the second installment to the brand's new beauty line, the first being its nail polish collection which launched just last year. Slowly but surely this designer is making his way into closets and makeup drawers across the globe. Could it be that it is only a matter of time before we're seeing Louboutin engraved across an eye shadow palette?

Naturally inspired by the label's shoe and handbag collections, Louboutin lipsticks come in 38 shades and three textures: Silky Satin which provides medium-to-full lip coverage, highly pigmented Velvet Matte, and Sheer Voile, Refinery 29 reports.

I was introduced to lipstick early in life. I would watch my mother apply and re-apply the same nude with pink undertone shade on multiple occasions throughout the day, in awe of its illuminating effect on her face. According to Yahoo Beauty, Louboutin describes his line by stating that "After the eyes, lips represent the most expressive element of the face. And there’s the fetish appeal, because lipstick can transform a face from intense to naive or even dangerous. When a woman carries a handbag, we look at her shoulders. When she slips on a pair of heels, we observe her walk. If she applies lacquer to her nails, we admire her hands. With its slow, circular application, lip makeup becomes a rich and sensual gesture."

Obviously if you going the distance to make a Louboutin purchase, you can expect to receive star treatment. Lipsticks come in gold packaging, while the signature Rouge Louboutin shade will be packaged in a black lacquer box. They're so fancy, you already know. Each individual lipstick costs a cringe-worthy $90 and will be available at Saks Fifth Avenue in September.
