Hillary Clinton Stands With Planned Parenthood

by Lauren Holter

As the top 10 GOP presidential candidates discussed abortion during the first primary debate of the season, Hillary Clinton responded to Planned Parenthood criticism by tweeting she stood with the women's health center. Immediately after Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker bragged about defunding Planned Parenthood in his state, Clinton tweeted a photo that read: "I'm proud to stand with Planned Parenthood. I'll never stop fighting to protect the ability and right of every woman in this country to make her own health decisions." Clinton wasted no time responding to her Republican opponents from afar while they fought it out on the debate stage. Many of the candidates in the debate tried to defund Planned Parenthood in the Senate recently, and Clinton continues to make it clear that she stands by the health care provider.

Clinton didn't stop there either. As the Republicans continued to debate health care, Clinton tweeted a more direct criticism to the GOP, saying, "Now that the Supreme Court has once again reaffirmed the ACA as the law of the land, it's time for Republican attacks to end. It's time to move on." She also responded to Donald Trump and Marco Rubio's comments on illegal immigrants and the need for a wall between the U.S. and Mexico, tweeting: "It's time for comprehensive immigration reform." She might not have been allowed to defend her views at the debate, but she certainly wasn't going to sit back and say nothing.

Without directly attacking the GOP candidates, Clinton took a jab at the whole party, by saying, "Watch the #GOPdebate? Bet you feel like donating to a Democrat right about now." She'll take any opportunity to get more people on Team Hillary, but that's why she's such a good politician.
