Hillary Clinton & More Celebs Support Jon Stewart

Comedian Jon Stewart took his last bow on Comedy Central's The Daily Show on Thursday night and there were tears, there was Bruce Springsteen, and — of course — there were tweets. Among all of the social media chatter about the big GOP debate, many fans took to Twitter to bid farewell to the beloved talk show host. Celebrities said goodbye to The Daily Show With Jon Stewart on Twitter as well, with Hillary Clinton sending Stewart a message alongside President Barack Obama, Conan O'Brien, Chelsea Clinton, George Takei, Jerry Seinfeld, and so many more.

Stewart took over the helm of The Daily Show in January 1999 and spent the past 16 years as host making us laugh, as well as educating viewers about the political climate of the United States. Democratic presidential candidate Clinton even tweeted that she'll miss Stewart as host — even though he totally mocked her campaign announcement video back in April. Alas, Stewart was always an equal-opportunity comedian and he famously poked fun at both the right wing and the left. He's had an amazing tenure on that show that'll make his shoes pretty tough to fill for Trevor Noah, who will begin hosting The Daily Show in September.

Check out some of the ways celebs said goodbye to Stewart using social media.

Hillary Clinton

Nice #GOPDebate hashtag, too. Clinton was mentioned a lot in the debate — I wonder if she watched that, too? She spent the night with Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, so it must've been fun.

Larry King

From one legendary host to another.

President Barack Obama

Quite an honor right there.

Jerry Seinfeld

Aww!

Chris Hardwick

Thumbs up, indeed.

Matt Walsh

Look at all those funny people.

Bruce Springsteen

Right before he rocked the stage.

Ellen DeGeneres

Umm, can someone please share the story behind this photo?

Chelsea Clinton

It looks like The Daily Show was a staple in the Clinton house.

Conan O'Brien

It's very clear to see — Stewart will be very, very missed by everyone.
