Listen To A Clip Of Nick Jonas' New Single

by Alex Kritselis

Brace yourselves: According to USA Today, pop music heartthrob Nick Jonas recently premiered a new single called "Under You" at the iHeartMedia Music Summit in Burbank, California — and it sounds very promising. Jonas hasn't announced the song's release date yet, but he took to Twitter shortly after his performance on Tuesday evening to tell fans that "big things" are on the horizon. What big things, you ask? Well, for starters, rumor has it "Under You" will appear on the upcoming reissue of the 22-year-old artist's latest self-titled album, which premiered in Nov. 2014. The 11-track set gave Jonas his first top 10 single as a solo act, "Jealous." Does he have another hit on his hands with "Under You"?

According to Hits Daily Double, "Under You" was helmed by pop music genius Max Martin — an in-demand producer with a long history of chart success — so it's a good possibility. However, to my ears, the song is reminiscent of a few of Martin's other recent songs (Taylor Swift's "Style" and Ariana Grande's "Love Me Harder," for example), which could limit its potential. Radio listeners may reject the track because of the perceived similarities — or, they may embrace it because of them! It could really go either way. We'll just have to wait and see what happens.

Check out a clip of Jonas performing "Under You" below.

"I'll never get over getting under you," Jonas belts on the song's pulsating chorus. With emotionally charged lyrics like that, I wouldn’t be surprised if the singer decides to pair "Under You" with an ultra-provocative music video that references his recent split with actress Olivia Culpo. I'm excited to hear the tune in full.

Stay tuned for more info about “Under You.”
