Is Maddie Ziegler Going To The 2015 TCAs?

by Nicole Pomarico

This has definitely been an amazing year for Dance Moms star Maddie Ziegler. Between starring in Sia's music videos for "Chandelier" and "Elastic Heart," she's had the chance to show off her chops to a way larger audience than people like me who live on reality television, so it shouldn't come as a surprise that the award nominations are continuing to roll in. This year, Maddie is up for a Teen Choice Awards for Choice Dancer, and I definitely wouldn't be surprised if she took it home. However, she's a pretty busy girl these days, so I wouldn't be surprised if she had to skip out on an award show or two to make another commitment happen. So far, there's no official word on whether or not Maddie will be at the 2015 Teen Choice Awards, but if I had to guess right now, I'd say she'll be there.

Why? Earlier this year, before nominations came out and voting was still going on, she said she was "so excited" to find out if she'd be nominated — that sounds like she's planning to go to me! It would be even more awesome if she reprised her performance of "Chandelier" with Kristin Wiig from the Grammys, but that's a stretch. We can dream, though!

Maddie has also been talking about the TCAs on Twitter — another good sign that she's looking forward to being there. Obviously, she's probably using the site to vote for herself (because duh, anyone would), but she's also voting for the other categories, too, and from her tweets, it's clear she has excellent taste in YouTube stars, because I love Miranda Sings.

More proof she'll probably be there? This video she shared with her Instagram followers, thanking them for voting for her. It seems like Maddie's super into the TCA thing and she's hoping she'll win — and so am I. She's one of the hardest working 12-year-olds ever, and Dance Moms proves that a lifestyle like hers isn't always easy, especially for someone who's so young.

The only way to find out for sure if Maddie will be there is by tuning in to the Teen Choice Awards on August 16. My fingers are crossed that she gets to take this one home!
