Oscar Isaac Covers "Roar" & It's Amazing

by Rachel Semigran

Oscar Isaac may have picked up a thing or two while playing the folksy star of the Coen Brothers latest film Inside Llewyn Davis. The multi-talented actor popped over to Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and regaled the audience with his take on an unlikely tune, Katy Perry’s “Roar.” And yes, it’s more incredible than you could ever imagine. Don’t believe us? Just look at the way Fallon can barely contain himself. It’s okay Jimmy, us too.

Isaac also noted in the interview that he was in a few bands in high school, so if the Internet could get to work on scrounging up some footage of those YMCA gym room or basement party sets, that would be great. Our collective 16-year-old selves would really appreciate it. Geeking-out aside, Isaac shows off some major skills in the folk singing department. Inside Llewyn Davis is one of the big must-see Oscar films of the year and may very well have the best soundtrack of the year.

And when you’re not busy time-traveling back to 1960s Greenwich Village and getting lost in the deep, soulful sounds of Oscar Isaac (and Justin Timberlake!), take a look at our picks of some more little-known celebrity talents.
