Britney Is So Classic She's Getting Sampled Now

by Maggie Malach

If B.o.B.'s new song "Psycadelik Thoughtz" sounds familiar, that's because it kind of is. The new track appears to sample Britney Spears' "Outta This World." (The snippet comes from one of the rare Britney Spears songs, but is still great.) While it's not confirmed that the sample is the Spears' track, it still adds an amazing layer to "Psycadelik Thoughtz."

"Psychedelic thoughts, psychedelic calls / From these psychedelic trees and I think it's rubbing off on me / I think it's rubbing off on me, I think it's rubbing off," B.o.B. raps as he questions who his real friends are.

He adds, "I'm searching for an outlet tryna charge my phone / Looking through my contacts ain't no one to call / Questions that need answers, looking for escape / I'm just looking for that high, can ya help me elevate?"

If you listen closely, you can hear similar beats at the beginning of both B.o.B.'s track and Spears' track. In both cases, the music adds a slightly trippy effect that suits both tracks. However, many artists experiment with sampling and some of our favorite songs include snippets of other tracks. Here are seven of the best songs that sample other songs.

1. "Bootylicious" — Destiny's Child

The intro to Stevie Nicks' "Edge of Seventeen" is sampled throughout "Bootylicious."

2. "Gold Digger" — Kanye West Feat. Jamie Foxx

"Gold Digger" contains samples of Ray Charles' "I Got a Woman."

3. "The Man" — Aloe Blacc

Aloe Blacc's "The Man" interpolates Elton John's "Your Song."

4. "SOS" — Rihanna

"SOS" samples Soft Cell's "Tainted Love."

5. "Good Feeling" — Flo Rida

Flo Rida's "Good Feeling" samples Etta James' "Something's Got a Hold on Me."

6. "Crazy In Love" — Beyonce Feat. Jay Z

"Crazy in Love" samples the Chi-Lites' "Are You My Woman (Tell Me So)."

7. "Anaconda" — Nicki Minaj

One of the most recent and recognizable snippets is in Nicki Minaj's "Anaconda," which samples Sir-Mix-A-Lot's "Baby Got Back."
