Becks Plays A Mysterious Drifter In Belstaff Film

by Marc Cuenco

It's been two years since he announced his retirement from soccer, but that hasn't slowed David Beckham down from the endorsement game. The 40-year-old style icon has appeared in numerous ad campaigns and commercials throughout his career, but his latest project finds Beckham starring in Belstaff's fashion film Outlaws . In the minute-and-a-half long Quentin Tarantino-esque trailer, Becks plays a motorcycle-riding drifter named The Stranger opposite acting veterans Harvey Keitel and Cathy Moriarty, and newcomer Katherine Waterston.

"I've had a long relationship with Belstaff, and a successful one, which I've enjoyed," Beckham said. "They came to me with the idea to do a short film and the idea of working wth Harvey and Katherine — it was a given that we were going to do this." The video is a surreal montage inspired by old Hollywood Westerns mashed up with carnival themed shows like American Horror Story: Freak Show . Outlaws was written and directed by Geremy Jasper and executive produced by actress Liv Tyler, who gave birth to her second child in February.

Beckham and Belstaff began collaborating last year when he designed a six-piece collection for the British clothing brand. The full-length version of Outlaws will make its premiere at London Fashion Week on September 21st, but you can preview the film below:

Having earned $42 million in endorsements last year, Beckham is one of the most successful celebrity spokespersons today. His body of work has turned him not only as a great athlete, but also an icon for his various appearances in print ads and TV commercials. Here are just some of Becks' most memorable endorsements that helped turn him into a global style icon.

Adidas

Beckham signed a $160 million lifetime contract with Adidas in 2003. Years later, he was joined by other soccer superstars for this epic commercial.

Pepsi

He-costarred with two of the biggest pop stars on the planet — Beyonce and Jennifer Lopez — in this 2005 Pepsi TV spot.

Emporio Armani

In 2008, Becks cemented his athlete-turned-model status with a series of sexy ads for Emporio Armani underwear.

H&M

He released a successful line of body wear for fast fashion giant H&M in 2012.
