Our 2014 Golden Globes Nominations... for Style
The 2014 Golden Globe nominations were released on December 12, and based on the list, there are going to be some really tough decisions to make. So many talented actors, yet so few trophies!
As we anticipate awards season, and the many red carpets that will bring, we can't help but think back to 2013 and what all the GG nominees wore. And though it may be impossible for us to choose a favorite nominated actress, we've got some ideas for style consolation prizes that can be doled out, for the actresses who don't receive the Globes for their thespian talents.
So, we now present our 15 nominations for the 2013 Style Golden Globes.
Most Likely to Look Like a Princess
Zooey Deschanel, for her ubiquitous ballgowns, elegant accessorizing, and flawless hair.
Most Likely to Wear Whatever She Wants
Lena Dunham, for choosing dresses based not on how flattering they are, but on how much they make her smile.
Best Maternity Style of 2013
Kate Winslet, because I’ll be damned if I ever look so elegant when I get knocked up.
Most Likely to Subtly Remind Us How Sexy She Is
Amy Poehler, for always bringing some unexpected va-va-voom, but still keeping it mad classy.
Most Likely to Look Like She's in Costume
Helena Bonham Carter, for always looking like she just walked off the set of a Tim Burton film.
Most Likely to Give Us Hope for Our Future
Helen Mirren, for somehow looking better and better every year.
Most Likely to Distract Us With Her Cleavage
Sofia Vergara, for almost always showing off her girls and for still dropping jaws every time.
Most Improved Style
Hayden Panettiere, for overcoming a past full of spray tans and ill-fitting dresses, and blossoming into a full-blown stylish star.
Most Likely to Choose the Perfect Color
Amy Adams, because she always picks a surprising shade of dove-grey, pale pink, or aubergine that turns our heads, even when the dress itself is simple.
Our Favorite Man on the Red Carpet
Idris Elba, for being ridiculously good looking and stylish.
Most Likely to Wear a Strange Silhouette
Cate Blanchett, for being the Queen of Couture.
Best Newcomer of 2013
Lupita Nyong’o, because even though we just discovered her this year, she has undisputedly owned every red carpet she’s graced.
Most Likely to Sneak Attack a Best Dressed List
Elizabeth Moss, for surprising us every time she’s way better dressed than Peggy Olson.
Most Likely to Take a Risk (and Our Overall Favorite)
Jennifer Lawrence, because between her haircut, her diverse red carpet style, and kooky behavior, J.Law has definitely become the most fun person to watch.
