These Rowers Are Stripping Down For A Good Cause

Let me just take a moment to say the following to any organization in the process of fundraising: Nude calendars are pretty much always a good idea, especially when you're raising funds for an excellent cause. Take, for instance, the Warwick Rowers' 2016 naked calendar — the promo video was just released, and even though I have no money, I would spend serious rent dollars on that calendar. The thirst is definitely real with this one.

In case you've been living under a rock and/or you're not a perv like me, the UK's University of Warwick rowing teams, both men and women, regularly take their clothes off and get their photos taken; then they ask people to pay money to look at them. I mean, if I appeared to be carved out of marble by an ancient Italian sculptor in search of the ideal human form, then, yeah, I'd be naked all the time, too.

Though the nude calendar had been a fundraising staple for years, in 2012 the men's team realized that a significant portion of their sales came from the LGBT community. Wanting to give back, the team created Sport Allies, an organization that fights homophobia throughout the sports community. This year, Sport Allies hopes to become a registered, independent charity. This is completely uninteresting and not touching in the slightest.

Bolstered by their 2015 success, the men's team upped their game for their 2016 calendar. The promo video looks professionally shot and features some real sophisticated mood muzak along with images of the boys playing with horses and oars and stuff — all sans clothes (duh). Scroll down to watch it, because trust me. You're not going to want to miss it.

In addition to several sexy-sounding locations — "English country estate," they shout! "Outstanding Spanish villa," they jeer! — they've also released a coffee table book. I don't know about you, but now I definitely know what my first "adult home" purchase will be. All those naked butts will really tie the room together, I'm sure.

The team is currently running their annual Crowdfunder (which, I should note, ends on my birthday, Sept. 30. It's a sign, although for what, I'm not entirely sure), so scamper over there to pick up on or 20 calendars and books and stuff. It's for a great cause. And also butts.
