What Is Amy Schumer & J. Law's Movie About?

I thought I remembered waking up and getting out of bed Wednesday morning, but clearly I'm still dreaming, because Jennifer Lawrence and Amy Schumer are writing a screenplay together. NOBODY PINCH ME OKAY. Nobody even move, because, whatever this beautiful dream world is, I don't want to do anything to disturb it. Everyone just be cool, and don't change anything the way you're thinking, moving, or breathing, and we might be able to keep this precious gift that our dream BFFs Schumer and Lawrence are dangling in front of us. Lawrence made the announcement that the two would be collaborating on a project during an interview with the New York Times that was supposed to be about The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part II, out this November.

So, basically, none of us were even a little bit prepared when Lawrence oh-so very casually dropped the news that she and Schumer would be making all our wildest dreams come true. Dreams we didn't even know it was safe to have. Says Lawrence about the project: "Amy and I were creatively made for each other. We have different flavors. It’s been the most fun experience of my life. We start the day off on the phone, laughing. And then we send each other pages. And we crack up."

GAH. Too much excitement. Too many friend goals. Cannot compute. But, for as blindsided and delighted as I know we all are by this revelation, there's no time to sit around with our jaws dropped marveling about it — we need to leap into action, and find out every single thing there is to know about this project so far.

1. It'll Be Comedic

Duh. Obviously we all love Jennifer Lawrence in dramatic roles, but these two shine so brightly on a comedic level that I'd be devastated if the movie was anything but.

2. They'll Both Be In It

In addition to writing the screenplay, both Schumer and Lawrence also currently plan to star in it. YASS.

3. They're Playing Sisters

Right, because I wasn't already jealous enough of their friendship, now they're a straight up family that I want to be adopted into. We don't know much else about the dynamic between these two, but, if we look at how they've played sisterly relationships in the past, I'd say we're leaning more toward the dynamic we saw in Trainwreck between Schumer and Brie Larson than toward the one between Lawrence and Willow Shields, who played the Prim to her Katniss in Hunger Games.

I'm betting Lawrence will be the more "together" sister, even though she's younger, while Schumer will be more of her typical irreverent self. Or maybe they'll totally throw me for a loop, and Schumer will be a mom in the project? You guys, I can't take the anticipation.

4. Amy's Real Life Sister Will Be Working On It Too

Amy Schumer's sister is producer Kim Caramele, and she also worked alongside Schumer on Trainwreck, so her involvement is great news.

5. They Already Have 100 Pages Written

Lawrence used phrases like "we’re almost done writing" and "it just flowed out of us," so commence doing your happy dance now!

6. They're Writing More This Week In Chicago

BRB, gotta go get a plane ticket.

7. Everybody's Going To Be Clamoring For It

Nobody even needs to tell me this — it's my own judgement call. An Oscar-winning actress teaming up with a comedian who just killed it writing and starring in her last movie? Everybody's gonna be throwing elbows trying to get at that script.

Now everybody just hush your mouths so that absolutely nothing disturbs these two from wrapping up their writing and pitching it around. THIS IS NOT A DRILL.
