Anne Hathaway Definitely Wore A Purse As A Hat

by Melanie Richtman

Anne Hathaway is always willing to take a fashion risk. From the gold, hooded dress she wore to the 2015 Met Gala to the backless (and somehow scandalous) dress she wore to the London premiere of Les Miserables, Hathaway isn't one to take rules or criticism too seriously. To further prove this point, Anne Hathaway shared a photo wearing a Givenchy purse on her head. Like a hat.

Like most celebrities, Hathaway tends to get berated by the media and the internet alike, although Hathaway seems to have an especially passionate group of haters. She even has a name for her haters: "Hathahaters." Because of this, it's incredibly refreshing to see her share such a goofy photo on Instagram, letting the world know that she DGAF what they think, nor does she take herself too seriously, unlike a lot of celebrities and bloggers on Instagram.

Hathaway captioned her purse hat photo in jest, saying "Dear @givenchyofficial, your stunning reinterpretation of 'the hat' is both revolutionary and awe inspiring. And so roomy! I shall wear mine with pride. Yours in trend-settingness, Annie." I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that this is either a carefully crafted PR stunt or an inside joke between Anne Hathaway and Riccardo Tisci.

This isn't the first time Hathaway has shared something silly on her Instagram account. A month ago she shared selfies wearing a blue fur Margiela neck piece (not sure you can call it a scarf) keeping it playful as she grinned on a shoot.

And then there was that one time she shared a snap of her and Kristen Stewart dressed in track suits and fake mustaches.

Keep being silly, Anne Hathaway. We like it. Especially if a good outfit or piece of fashion is involved.
