Beyoncé's New Album Is Already Doing Very Well

Need any more proof that Beyoncé is queen and better than all your faves (unless your fave is Beyoncé)? According to Billboard, Beyoncé's new self-titled album sold 80,000 copies in the first three hours of its release, after it was quietly dropped on iTunes last night with no prior promotion. As it is now, the album is likely going to nab the number one spot on the Billboard 200 when the list is released on Dec. 18. Only Queen Bey, guys — only Queen Bey.

Apparently, right now it's too early to judge how many units the album will sell — people, after all, are still all reeling from the fact that Bey released a new album to begin with — but with a number like 80,000 in the first three hours, I'm officially predicting A LOT. As Billboard points out:

...with prior projected leader, "Blame It All On My Roots: Five Decades Of Influences" by Garth Brooks, estimated to shift 150,000-160,000 units, Beyonce is already halfway to that sum. And in the time it would take someone to fly from New York to Miami.

In other words, imagine what she could achieve in the time it takes someone to fly from New York to LA! Or from New York to Sydney!

As previously reported, Bey's new self-titled "visual album" contains a total of 14 songs and a whopping 17 music videos — all released at once. You'll have to wait until Dec. 20 to download the songs and videos individually, but right now, the album is available for full purchase on iTunes for only $15.99. Only a small price to pay to hear genius.
