Guess Who Hung Out With Scott Disick?

After years of keeping up with the Kardashians on my TV screen and social media feeds, it takes a lot for their actions to surprise me. Kim Kardashian takes a selfie with Hillary Clinton? Cool, I retweet and go about my day. Kris Jenner's favorite store is Costco? A little unexpected, but makes sense. At this point, they could go on a trip with NASA to the moon and I'd think, "Hmm, interesting choice for their annual family vacay. Can't wait to see the two-part episode about that!" OK, slight exaggeration, but my point is that the shock value has definitely faded... Until I came across a headline that made me scratch my head in confusion: Scott Disick hung out with Kylie Jenner and Tyga at a night club in West Hollywood on Friday night.

According to Us Weekly, "The trio were photographed leaving the trendy nightclub at 2 a.m." An "onlooker" noted that they were super friendly, spending their time together chatting and laughing. This isn't the first time that I've wanted to blurt out, "Kylie, what are you doing?!?" as if she's the little sister I never had. Then of course, I came to my senses and realized despite years of watching her on television, I don't actually know the 18-year-old IRL. Upon further pondering, I realized this hang out could be a good thing.

It's not as sketchy a meet-up as it may sound, as if Kylie went behind her sister Kourtney's back to see her ex. Instead, they were all there for The Weeknd's album release party at 1 OAK night club. Of course if they're in the same place they're going to chat. Another realization? Scott Disick is practically like family to Kylie Jenner. The two have been in each other's lives for years, so it makes sense that they were friendly.

In an interview after the split, Disick said that he's taking things one day at a time. Obviously he still does really value his family, as evidenced by the pictures (and incredibly adorable videos!) he's posted on Mason and Penelope. The fact that he can cordially hang with Jenner is a sign that things are going better than expected and there isn't some kind of incredible tension between them. That's great news.

Granted, that doesn't mean everything is 100-percent fixed or that Kourtney and Scott are getting back together. Kris Jenner recently commended Kourtney for her strength through the break-up and admitted she's going through a lot. But despite what must be a really rough patch, the eldest Kardashian daughter isn't letting it drag her down. Seemingly unfazed, she shared a smiling photo with son Reign that same night as Scott and Kylie's club hang-out. Clearly she's doing well for herself and rocking the whole independence thing. She's putting her kids first and doing what's best for all of them (herself included).

It's all admittedly a bit confusing to piece together, but here's the bottom line: The Kardashian/Jenners put family first and that's what matters most. At the end of the day, Scott and Kylie are like family, so it makes sense they were bonding. It's really not as scandalous as it first seemed — thank goodness!
