'The Flash' Has Found Zoom's Voice

One of The CW's most popular series has just cast the voice of the major bad guy of Season 2. According to Variety, Tony Todd will voice Zoom on The Flash. Todd is best known as the titular character in Candyman, in addition to stints on Chuck, 24, and The Young and the Restless. Before fans get too excited, just because Todd is voicing Professor Zoom that doesn't mean he is actually playing the overarching villain of the sophomore season.

If you don't follow the comics or are just plain confused, Todd is voicing Zoom until the actual unmasking of the nefarious speedster. Remember how Season 1 gave the Reverse-Flash a voice before revealing his true identity as Harrison Wells? That's exactly what's happening here with the man who has the ability to slow down everything around him, which makes him extremely difficult to catch.

Per executive producer Andrew Kreisberg, who spoke with Variety, "Last year, with the Reverse-Flash, we just modulated Tom Cavanagh’s voice, and this year we wanted to do something a little bit different." He added, "Part of the mystery of the season is who or what is underneath the Zoom outfit, and so we wanted to do something like James Earl Jones as Darth Vader — this iconic voice coming out of this mask. Last year, we thought of the Reverse-Flash as a speed warrior; this year, Zoom is like a speed demon, and no one does demon-voice better than Tony Todd."

Basically, the mysteries of The Flash just keep on coming and I couldn't be more thrilled! Todd's voice work is slated to start durng the second episode, titled "Flash of Two Words."
