You Can Fly For Just $15

If you're looking for a bargain flight in the next two weeks (or just want to get away on the cheap), today's your lucky day. Frontier Airlines is offering $1 flights (plus taxes and fees) on Wednesday only. Why spend $1 on a small McDonald's french fry, when you could use it for an impromptu vacation? There's not much else $1 will get you these days. Even with the fees added on, you can fly one-way for $15 — but only if you live in one of the eligible cities. It's just too good a deal to be applicable nationwide. So if you do live in a city with the unbelievably cheap flights, take full advantage.

So what cities are these magical $15 Frontier flights departing from? The airline's website says the deal only applies in Atlanta, Chicago, Cleveland, Denver, Philadelphia, Trenton, and Washington D.C. However, there are also $15 flights from Austin, Charlotte, Cincinnati, Detroit, Fort Meyers, Greensboro, Houston, Indianapolis, Las Vegas, Memphis, Miami, Minneapolis, New Orleans, Raleigh, Salt Lake City, Seattle, and Tampa on the website that are traveling to the cities officially included in the one-day sale. This is the perfect opportunity to be adventurous and just go wherever a cheap ticket takes you. What's there to do in Trenton, New Jersey? I don't know, but for a $30 round trip, I'll gladly find out!

The practically-free plane tickets are only available on Wednesday, and have to be purchased by midnight. The flights for this price fly from September 2-16, with September 8 blacked out. Needless to say, you shouldn't overthink this purchase so much that you miss the cutoff and don't get to go on a spontaneous trip. You can check flights from your city on Frontier's website. Don't be discouraged if the website is slow to load — it's likely to be bombarded by other cheap travelers.

Frontier Airlines normally has pretty inexpensive plane tickets, and has pop-up sales fairly often, but these $15 flights are by far the cheapest. It usually costs $30 just to check a bag with most airlines, much less actually get on a plane. A $1 flight before taxes sounds so ridiculous, too good to be true, that some people didn't think the offer was real when they got the e-mail from the airline this morning.

I think it's safe to say you'll never find a cheaper flight. But who knows; Frontier may outdo itself in a few months.
