Bella Hadid & The Weeknd Are The Coolest Couple

by Caitlyn Callegari

Some celebrity couples are all about the paparazzi picture PDA, social media lovin’, and red carpet flaunting. Other celebs, though, like to keep things more on the down-low. Cool couple The Weeknd and Bella Hadid are definitely more of the latter. The two are manage to readily maintain their own unique identities and interests — the true mark of a stable, secure couple — and that just makes me like them together that much more.

Considering that the singer (real name, Abel Tesfaye) and the model are both very high profile people, the fact that their relationship is considerably less public isn’t shady; it’s sweet. Neither of them feels like need to boast or brag about their amazing partner. It’s clear that they are completely content with keeping the social media PDA to a minimum, because that’s not what they’re about. And they give credence to the belief that affection can exist without it being talked about. It's easy to get a little hung up on the proper social media relationship etiquette, and these two prove that social media overexposure doesn’t prove anything.

Here are seven reasons why The Weeknd and Bella Hadid are truly the coolest couple:

1. They're Both Killing It Career-Wise

Power couple for sure. T. Swift and Calvin Harris and Bey and Jay better watch out.

2. They Have A Lot In Common, Like Appreciating Their Fans

A couple of good eggs, here. It says a lot about their character.

3. They Support Each Other

It's the little things, you know?

4. Despite Their Busy Schedules, They Still Find Time To Make It Work

You guys.

5. Family Matters To Them

Always an added bonus to get the fam's approval. Even better when everyone can hang as friends. (That's Hadid's sister, Gigi, with The Weeknd above.)

6. They're Keeping Things Mysterious

As most fans have figured out, The Weeknd owns a jacket just like that one. But, hey. It could potentially be someone else...

7. They're Honest About Their Feelings

In a New York Times interview, The Weeknd was asked if he was in love with his girlfriend and said, "I don’t know, to be honest with you. I don’t think so. Maybe. It’s no, it’s yes, it’s maybe."

Contrary to popular belief, not everyone falls in love at first sight. Nor, should they. Getting to know someone in a relationship and figuring out true feelings rather than feeling pressured into lying about them is actually a really good sign. So, despite people being weary about this comment, I found it totally refreshing. Not knowing if you're in love or not doesn't mean that you don't truly care for the person you're with.

So, there's only one thing left to ask. What's cooler than being cool? The Weeknd and Bella Hadid, of course.
