Alexander Wang Just Designed An Evian Bottle

by Tyler Atwood

The humble plastic water bottle may not rank amongst your most sophisticated daily accessories, but Alexander Wang's collaboration with Evian has transformed the banal staple into a higher art form. Women's Wear Daily reports that the streamlined glass bottles will hit hotels and restaurants just in time for Fashion Week. It seems H20 is hautest new trend for Spring 2016.

Wang's two bottle designs feature black and white bar codes, augmented to appear more like a modern art print than a utilitarian code. Each of the bottles will be sold in Prestige PET and glass configurations, each of which will undoubtedly appeal to Wang's downtown chic clientele. When prompted to discuss his decision to join forces with Evian, Wang explained that the choice was born out of his desire to venture into lifestyle design. "We don’t just live with clothes and shoes. We sit on furniture. We go to restaurants. We drink. We eat. To be able to take our brand and expand into lifestyle and work with partners that have perfected what they do is something I learn so much from and really stimulates me," Wang stated.

The Evian x Alexander Wang union is far from the young designer's first brush with collaboration. Check out three more of the designer's best partnerships.
