Emilia Clarke Slays The 'GQ' Red Carpet

by Rosie Narasaki

With Game of Thrones on hiatus until April (argh, when will we find out if Jon Snow gets resurrected or not?), and her summer flick Terminator: Genysis in the rearview mirror, we haven't exactly seen a whole lot of Emilia Clarke on the red carpet recently. For her fans, her lack of appearances lately has been something of a crying shame — come on, we miss her ridiculous eyebrow game, and her sordid tales of fluffy pink "modesty" socks — but at least it means she's busy, right? At any rate, the Game of Thrones star walked the red carpet last night for the GQ Men of the Year Awards, where she was honored with the (almost eponymous) GQ Woman of the Year Award — and she looked every bit as fabulous as you might expect.

Yep, Ms. Clarke walked the red carpet in a drop-dead-gorgeous fire-engine red Oscar de la Renta frock. The dress in question is the stuff of dreams, pairing that signature Oscar de la Renta classic, feminine, embroidered, beaded, and perfectly tailored jazz with quite the injection of bodycon '80s-esque glam. She accessorized the strapless party dress with black ankle-strapped tango shoes, as well some well-placed understated gold bangles — let's take a look:

Hair and beauty-wise, she sported a new, undone 'do (looks like her adorable bob has grown out into an equally-adorable lob), and she paired the retro, bedroom-adjacent hair with ridiculously on point makeup (of course), which featured a smudgy devil-may-care cat eye, a sheer mauve pout, and some absolutely killer brows.

Just the right amount of dishy, right? It's not the first time Clarke has killed it in red in recent memory — she wore retro-fabulous red-red Christian Dior for the Tokyo premiere of Terminator: Genysis.

Let's hope she returns to the color again soon!
