Reese Witherspoon & Her Daughter Are Twinning

Need evidence that some kind of freaky space-time continuum is real? Look no further than Reese Witherspoon's look-alike daughter, Ava Phillippe, who celebrated her sixteenth birthday this week. Or should I say, just look at Witherspoon twenty years ago. Because they're the same person. Get it? Just want to make sure I'm coming in loud and clear here that Witherspoon and Phillippe are one and the same.

Now, I know it's not that remarkable for a child to look like one or both of the parents, but the resemblance between these two is uncanny. Although her famous parents — including step-dad Jim Toth — have mostly managed to keep her and her siblings out of the spotlight (aside from occasional Starbucks runs!), every time paps managed to snap a shot of Witherspoon and Phillippe side by side, fans love seeing how similar the two look. And the older the teenager gets, the more she really, really resembles her mamma.

From their matching long blond hair to big blue eyes and similarly petite frames — Witherspoon is 5'1" and it looks like Phillippe is around the same height — they are perfect reflections of each other. Perhaps Phillippe dyed her hair blue so people could tell them apart? It's crazy, right?

1. Confusing Valentino with their identical signature smirks.

To be fair, the designer never stood a chance; in addition to crisp white tops, they're even wearing matching cross-body bags with chain straps! Is it just me or does he look defeated?

That matching smile gives it all away.

3. Here they are looking exactly the same in a church.

Notice, if you will, that Phillippe is wearing the shirt that goes with Witherspoon's shorts. They might not have wanted their outfits to be too matchy-matchy, but there's nothing they can do about genetics.

Nope, it's her daughter celebrating her BFF's Sweet Sixteen, just a couple weeks before her own.
