Her Next Role May Surprise You

There's still a few months until Glee airs its annual Nationals episode, but it seems that the cast is already coming together for the March installment. After announcing recently that Pitch Perfect star Skylar Astin would be guest-starring, Fox has now announced that Academy Award-winner Marlee Matlin will guest star on Glee as a judge for the Nationals competition. This is a great choice, as Matlin is a great actress — she's the only deaf performer to win an Oscar for Best Actress — but let's all start a prayer circle that Glee doesn't employ some awkward deaf joke for comedic relief when Matlin guest stars, yeah?

According to Hypable, Matlin has been tweeting photos of herself on set with the stars — namely Darren Criss, Astin, and Chord Overstreet — and revealed in a tweet that she'll be on set for the next two days. Though it has been confirmed that she'll be playing a judge at the Nationals competition where Criss, Astin, and Overstreet's characters are performing, the degree of her involvement in the episode has not been revealed, nor have any hints about her plotline. I assume that'll come along closer to the episode's air date in March, though, so patience is key here.

Until then — you can check out Matlin's tweets below.
