A 'Sister Wives' Star Just Got Engaged

by Caitlyn Callegari

Big news, reality TV fans: Sister Wives star Maddie Brown is engaged. People reports that the 18-year-old is engaged to Caleb Brush, a repairman of mine equipment who is 10 years Brown's senior. Brush did, however, seek permission from Brown's dad before asking for her hand and, gauging by the couple's now-engaged status, the teen's father was totally cool with them walking down the aisle.

The sentimental custom isn't the only interesting part of the engagement. Although Brown's parents, Kody and Janelle, are known for their polygamous lives, it turns out that their daughter isn't as keen on the idea of plural marriage. Brush told People,

"We are not living plural marriage. We support Maddie's family with their choice of living plural marriage and they support us with our choice in just marrying each other."

It's great they have their family's support, and the duo seem super pumped about their engagement. Brown is clearly experiencing the expected soon-to-be wedded bliss, and in the article, shared the story of how she and Brush became engaged. She told People,

"It was cold and we were huddled in jackets and I thought he was crazy to stop. He said to come look over here. So I walked with him to the edge. He told me he could never express how much he loved me, but he wanted to spend his life trying, and went down in one knee and pulled out a box. I started kissing him and saying, 'Yes, yes!'"

If the proposal was that epic, imagine just how elaborate the wedding will be. Will they air it on Sister Wives, perhaps? Hm, I guess we'll just have to wait and see. Congrats to Brown and Brush!
