Mindy Stunned In Custom Salvador Perez AGAIN

by Rosie Narasaki

Nothing can quite beat the collaboration between an actress and a designer who seems to always create something amazing for her — Mindy Kaling wore a red Salvador Perez dress for the Creative Arts Emmy Awards, and the gown was nothing short of fabulous. After all, Perez is the mastermind behind Kaling's enviably colorful looks on her show The Mindy Project , and he creates custom dresses for her for many of her red carpet premieres, award shows, and film festivals. Recently, he designed her eye-catching two-piece gown at the Cannes premiere of Inside Out , as well as her mod and sparkly periwinkle minidress at the Glamour Women of the Year Awards, and her pink number from the People's Choice Awards.... but this might just be their best collaboration yet.

Unfortunately, Perez didn't end up taking home the award for Outstanding Costumes for a Contemporary Series, but I think we can safely agree that he won the red carpet: Kaling looked equal parts Old Hollywood glam and devastatingly modern in a dramatically draped one-shouldered dress, complete with delicate Swarovski crystal detailing. The gown itself fit perfectly, and it featured a dramatic asymmetrical floor-length cape. She styled the look accordingly by pairing the dress with a counterbalanced sideswept (and ultra-glam) hairstyle, elegant diamond drop earrings, and pitch-perfect makeup (topped off with a gorgeous glossy red lip, of course). Let's take a look!

Absolutely stunning, no? The Mindy Project premieres its fourth season on Hulu tomorrow, and there's sure to be a lot of fabulous fashion coming our way over the next few months — after all, if Salvador and Kaling's respective Instagram accounts are any indication, Dr. Lahiri will be adopting a devastatingly chic, Jackie O-esque take on maternity in Season 4 of TMP. Let's add that to the ever-growing list of reasons to get pumped for the Hulu premiere, eh?
