Fans Say Goodbye To 1D With An Emotional Hashtag

In August, the worst news since Zayn Malik announced his departure from One Direction spread after rumors circulated that One Direction would be going on hiatus. Soon after, band member Niall Horan confirmed the break, but promised fans that the band isn't splitting up for good. Of course, Directioners reacted passionately about the news, because when don't they? Well, on Sunday, One Direction played their last performance in the U.S. as part of their On The Road Again Tour, and fans kept the emotion coming by mourning 1D ahead of the hiatus on Twitter.

To be clear, just because Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, and Niall Horan performed their last show in the U.S. doesn't mean the band will never play stateside ever again. However, fans will probably have to wait a little bit longer to see them play as a group. Fans created the hashtag #WeWillMeetAgain1D (it was even trending on Monday) to express themselves and try to stay positive about the heartbreak they are experiencing. At least they're looking at the bright side and coming together as a fandom to support one another.
