Ranking The Current 'SNL' Cast's Past Emmy Looks

The 2015 Emmys are fast approaching and there is arguably no on-screen cast who is more of an Emmys staple than that of Saturday Night Live. I mean, SNL may be the most iconic comedy show of all time, and these funny people don't disappoint on the red carpet either... at least, most of the time. So as we prepare for the 2015 Emmy Awards, why not take a fun look back at both the best and worst fashions worn by the SNL cast for Emmys past?

If you need more convincing of SNL's huge Emmy influence, the TV show has been nominated for a total of 183 awards, winning 42 of them. This year, it's up for eight nominations, spanning everything from Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series to Outstanding Hairstyling. The 2015 host is also SNL veteran Andy Samberg, making the awards basically an SNL love fest.

In the spirit of the SNL Emmy takeover, let's take a look back at the current cast of SNL's best and worst looks from the Emmys of yesteryear. If you want to see all of this year's award fashion, make sure to tune into the 67th annual Emmy Awards show on Sept. 20.

9. Taran Killam

I won't lie: Taran Killam is looking a little bit like a hot mess at the 2010 pre-Emmy party. Granted, this picture is from an after party, so I'm sure a lot of celebrities tone it down a bit after all the red carpet madness. But rolled up sleeves? Really, Killam?

8. Jay Pharoah

Here are two looks for the price of one. At the top, Pharoah is pictured at the 2014 Emmys, whilst on the bottom he is at the 2013 awards. The comedian is receiving eighth place because his first outfit is cringeworthy and boring, and his 2013 tux is far too cheesy with those satin lapels. It's just too much, guys.

7. Cecily Strong

I'm loving Strong's eclectic dress with the cape-style draping in the back. However, I'm not sure the gown has that wow-factor that I believe should be present in all Emmy dresses.

6. Sasheer Zamata

Zamata knows how to bring her glam A-game. I love her bold yet sleek outfit and makeup for the Emmys.

5. Michael Che

Michael Che may be one of the most handsome men to ever exist, IMO, and his Emmy look is a total win. With his fitted tux and bowtie, he's proving his sartorial prowess pretty effortlessly.

4. Aidy Bryant (Center)

Funny lady Aidy Bryant looks so quirky and cute in her lacy babydoll number from the 2014 Emmy awards. I love how she dared to be different with her red carpet look.

3. Colin Jost (Second To The Left)

Jost earns third place for his sharp Emmys look circa 2014, complete with a bowtie and "don't mess me with me" red carpet pose.

2. Vanessa Bayer (Left)

Bayer absolutely stunned in emerald green when arriving at the 2014 Emmy awards. The combination of the gown's hue, her lip color, and her hair is almost too much — but in a totally great way.

1. Kate McKinnon

And the winner is: Kate McKinnon! The SNL cast member stunned at the 2014 Emmys and takes the cake for the best dressed. Isn't her lace gown just gorgeous? It's the perfect hybrid of elegant, sexy, and sophisticated.

These funny folks sure know how to bring it on the red carpet, y'all.
