Donald Trump's Braggadocios Opening Debate Lines

by Leah Rocketto

It didn't take long for Donald Trump to make us laugh out loud (or at least, let out a light giggle) during the second GOP presidential debate on September 16. Placed at the center podium, the businessman made an opening statement that would make even the biggest haters smile. Although other candidates focused on their political experiences and expertise, the former host of The Apprentice highlighted his wealth. Touching on everything from his books to his business deals to his braggadocios success (yes, The Donald did bring back some popular '70s vernacular), Trump made a truly one of a kind opening statement that most would define as a not-so-humblebrag.

I'm Donald Trump. I wrote The Art of the Deal. I say, not in a braggadocios way, I've made billions and billions of dollars dealing with people all over the world. And I want to put whatever talent that is to work for this country so we have great trade deals. We make our country rich again. We make it great again. We build up our military. We take care of our vets. We get rid of Obamacare. And we have a great life all together. Thank you.

Yeah. That's the Donald we want to see.
