'HIMYM' Has a Finale Date

I've gotta say: The fact that How I Met Your Mother is ending is pretty bittersweet. On one hand, it's been like a million years (OK, nine seasons), and Ted just met the mother — and the series has literally had the entire final season set over the course of a wedding weekend. Did you think season two of The Walking Dead moved slowly? Try experiencing 24 episodes that all take place in the same 48 hours. It's worse. On the other hand, though, it's been nine years with these lovable guys! What will we do without Robin's awesome Canadian pop star flashbacks, or Barney's infinite wisdom? I don't know, and I don't want to find out. Unfortunately, we're all going to soon: According to Hypable, the date for the series finale of How I Met Your Mother has officially been set, and it's happening sooner than any of us could ever imagine.

So, when is it? Drumroll...it's happening on March 31. Well before most shows when in May, and much sooner than the show usually airs its season finales. The reasoning for this isn't clear, but it may have something to do with the fact that production on this season began earlier in the summer.

It will reportedly be a one-hour finale, as well as the show's 208th episode.

WE'RE NOT READY.
