'Game Of Thrones' Style At The Emmys
Leading this year's race with 24 nominations, Game of Thrones is set to sweep the Emmys on Sunday night. HBO's epic fantasy drama series also boasts a very stylish cast that slays the red carpet, including their Emmy Awards red carpet appearances. In the last few years, the stars of GOT have consistently killed the competition (just like on the show) with their sartorial choices, as evidenced in the red carpet photos below.
Game of Thrones made its Emmy Awards debut in 2011 with several cast members in attendance. Actress Lena Headey, Queen Cersei herself, made the grandest entrance of all with a black taffeta gown by Alessandra Rich, which she then paired with bright fuschia heels. Her co-star Michelle Fairley also wore Alessandra Rich, but in a laminated lace gown with ornate design details. A few of GOT's leading men also attended that year, including a bearded Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, a young Kit Harington, and Peter Dinklage — who had the best accessory of the night after winning his first Emmy in the Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama category.
Following Dinklage's win, the GOT cast returned to the Emmys red carpet and brought along a couple of new faces making their debut. Two-time Emmy nominee Emilia Clarke left her dragons at home in 2012, but still wowed in a tea-length Chanel gown with embroidered purple sequins. Two years later, Natalie Dormer stunned in a color-blocked J. Mendel gown, while Rose Leslie had a princess moment in a navy blue dress with a bejeweled waistband.
