No One's Upset About Emmys Actress "Snubs"

by Courtney Lindley

Honestly, deciding who to root for during this year's Emmys was no easy feat. Especially when it came to the Lead Actress in a Drama Series category. Even though Viola Davis took home the award, I think we can all agree that this was some tough — and I mean tough — competition. Up against Davis, we had Taraji P. Henson for Empire, Tatiana Maslany for Orphan Black, Claire Danes for Homeland, Elisabeth Moss for Mad Men, and Robin Wright for House of Cards. Like, what?! You could make a strong case that each and every one of these women deserved that Emmy, and I'm sure there are some who'd say Tatiana Maslany and Taraji P. Henson were snubbed. But that's not how things went down in 2015.

There were definitely three actresses that stood out amongst fans: Maslany, Henson, and Davis. You'd expect diehard fans of someone like Maslany to be upset that their fave got snubbed (again, ugh!), but surprisingly, even Maslany's fans can respect the grace and talent of Davis.

That's not to say Maslany didn't deserve the award as well (see: aforementioned tough competition), but there's something incredible about the way her fans are handling the loss. This kind of support is a bit unprecedented during awards season, and just proves how deserving Davis was of that award.

Even Henson was supportive! What's better than seeing fellow nominees rooting for each other and being proud of one another? So many feels I cannot even contain myself. Apparently, I'm not the only one whose #friendshipgoals radar was going off during that Henson and Davis hug moment. Love to see some solidarity between two of the best women on the small screen right now.

Word. Let's keep this positivity going, everyone. It's nothing short of awesome to witness.
