How Much Is The Countess Really Worth?

by Marenah Dobin

When Real Housewives of New York City fans think of long-time Housewife LuAnn de Lesseps, the first word that comes to mind is probably "countess," but there is so much more to LuAnn than that royal title. The 50-year-old is not the type to just sit around. I assume that LuAnn could just live off of some hypothetical, royal countess bank account for the rest of her life, but she's not good with that and enjoys being active, whether that means appearing on RHONY or releasing a new single. LuAnn de Lesseps' net worth is pretty high and is almost certainly increasing because of her numerous projects.

The mother of two is building up an empire with her many business ventures. So, what is the Countess up to these days? From being a cast member on Real Housewives of New York City , to writing books, to designing clothes, and even selling her own vodka line, LuAnn aspires to explore all of her interests, and I'm sure that all adds up to some hefty pay days. CelebrityNetWorth.com estimates that LuAnn's net worth is $15 million. Here's a round-up of the factors that contribute to that number.

This is obviously something that all RHONY fans are aware of, and I'm sure as one of the remaining original cast members, she has to make a good amount of money from this. But appearing on the show is also a major component of spotlighting her brand and promoting her other business ventures, which I'm sure adds up to some profits for the countess.

She's An Author

LuAnn's book Class with the Countess: How to Live with Elegance and Flair is full of advice for social etiquette and behavior. The Countess has advice about "the art of seduction" and the "the art of making other people feel comfortable," two topics that I am sure she is well versed on.

LuAnn was a licensed nurse who worked in a nursing home for the elderly. Aside from her medical skills, I bet this experience contributed to her people skills and ability to relate to just about everyone.

She Was A Model

LuAnn was a signed model for Wilhelmina. She walked runways all over the world, and I'm sure the designers loved working with someone as beautiful and amiable as she is.

She's A Clothing Designer

If I can't be The Countess, dressing like her is the next best thing. LuAnn has a clothing line called The Countess Collection available on EVINE.com. These are all clothes that LuAnn actually wears too. She's not just putting her face and name on a brand for the sake of it, and I think the fact that she is one of her own customers is important to her brand.

Soon fans will be able to drink like yet another Housewife with LuAnn's new line of infused vodkas, which, like her clothing line, will be called The Countess Collection. Fans of the show know that Lu likes her cocktails, so I'm sure this is venture is going to take off.

She's A Singer

LuAnn's songs are infectious and fun. From "Money Can't Buy You Class" to "Girl Code (Don't Be So Uncool)" they are all amazing and usually tie into RHONY story lines, which I love. I'm sure that her loyal fans have purchased them all, and I bet that closeted Housewives fans are bopping along to her jams as well.

She's A Countess

I'm not totally sure how this whole countess thing works, but I assume that having a royal title comes along with some financial perks both pre and post divorce from her ex-husband.

LuAnn is not the kind of person to put all of her eggs in one basket. She has tried it all and continues to add to her brand. I won't be surprised if her net worth keeps on growing.
