Mila Kunis' New Horror Comedy Is Nightmare-ish

Full disclosure: I am a person who covers her eyes at the sight of anything vaguely terrifying. Horror film and television show commercials, as you can imagine, are a minefield for my sensitive sensibilities. So, honestly, my first thought upon hearing about this show was complete and utter terror — but, considering it's meant to be a horror comedy, I assume that means it's doing its job completely correctly. According to Deadline, Mila Kunis is teaming up with Rob Zombie for Trapped , a horror/comedy show about a wealthy family held captive by a murderous cult.

Cue terror-filled teasers in between my blissfully mindless episodes of Real Housewives.

Of course, for those who aren't constantly terrified of anything in the horror genre, this show sounds like a great concept that could produce must-see results. So, what will the new show be like? With Kunis’ great sense of comedy and Zombie’s expertise in horror, it doesn't seem like it can go wrong. Seat-clenching and face-covering aside, I can’t wait to see what the show has in store. From the sounds of it, it’s going to be an awesome mix of sitcom humor (especially with a trapped wealthy family, that’s the stuff of comedy gold right there) and nightmare-inducing thrills. (More specifically, my nightmares. Because I’m sure I will spend one minute watching this show and want to curl up in a bright room with Disney's Peter Pan playing on repeat.)

In addition to the great combination of comedy and horror, the show sounds like 24’s twisted stepchild: With the entire thing taking place over the course of one night, you know you can count on plenty of compressed storytelling, probably a ton of juicy backstory, and some really great character development. Now that is something I would show up for, week after the week.

The show is created and written by Arrested Development’s Joey Slamon, too, so you know there will at least be some really great humor to lighten up the really horrifying bits. Personally, I’m hoping for a ton of family dysfunction to get me through the darker moments of Trapped, because I don’t want to miss what is sure to be a fan favorite (and eventual cult classic) for anything.

Even if I will be terrified 80 percent of the time I'm watching it.
