Get Prada's Embellished Coat Look For Fall

Most fashion shows close off their runway presentations with gorgeous gowns, but Prada isn't most fashion shows. For their spring/summer 2016 collection, Prada showed detailed, embellished coats for the finale, as opposed to the traditional evening dresses. And even if coat season has passed by spring, these toppers would be worth the wear, because they're absolutely beautiful. Instagram's Head Of Fashion Partnerships Eva Chen (previously Lucky Editor-In-Chief, and even more previously Beauty Editor at Teen Vogue) so graciously brought a slow motion video of the Prada finale to her nearly 450K followers on Instagram. The video shows a model basically floating across the runway in a colorful, three-dimensional embellished, sparkling coat that is already making me drool.

Prada is always one of the most anticipated shows of the season. The Italian brand knows how to push fashion boundaries and really create new trends, whether it be androgynous dressing or asymmetrical hem lines. Beyond the brand's covetable handbags, sunglasses, and shoes, Prada creates gorgeous clothing. The finale coats at the latest presentation certainly illustrate that fact.

The collection was a colorful bundle of pieces covered in sequins, jewels, and beads. The finale coats pictured below look almost like basic white rain jackets, only bedazzled. They're easily the stand-out pieces from the collection, which is probably why they also closed the show.

They are also not traditionally what you picture when you think "coat." The pieces are not heavy or made from thick material. I like the contrast between the pretty, sparkling embellishments and the rain coat-style silhouette, which is traditionally so dismal and drab.

Models also wore unstructured dresses in beautiful prints, lot's of jewels, and green lipstick. Just check out the top of this dress.

The finale coats weren't the only ones in the collection. There were also these vertically striped creations.

Those coats will probably haunt my dreams for the rest of my days — hakuna ma-Prada-coat-tata? I'm already loving the embellished coat trend that Prada has generously kick-started.
