Britney Spears Makes "Most Dangerous" List

by Jaclyn Anglis

Britney Spears is coming for us and there is not a blessed thing we can do to stop her. The pop star has been added to a list that, at first glance, may seem shocking or surprising. But in hindsight, perhaps we should have seen it coming. Britney Spears is on the Most Dangerous Cyber Celebrities of 2015 list, put together and released by Intel Security.

Here's the scoop: Every year, Intel Security puts together a list of the celebrities who generate the most dangerous search results when their fans or followers search for their names on the Internet. "Dangerous," in this context, means searches that make the Internet users more vulnerable to viruses and malware. So, what makes all these dangerous results pop up? A statement from McAfee, which is owned by Intel, explains, "Cybercriminals are always looking for ways to take advantage of consumer interest around popular culture events including award shows, TV show and movies premieres, album releases, celebrity breakups, and more."

So "danger" in this sense is a result of a lot of unrelenting interest in the person and a lot of big life events and developments in said person's life. And I think everyone can agree there is no stopping Britney Spears in either of those respects, which is probably why the "Womanizer" performer is so "dangerous," especially considering the epic year she has had so far.

Award Shows

If looks could kill, Spears has killed it at just about every award show she has shown up at this year. (Now that's dangerous to everyone else on the red carpet.) The 33-year-old's style has been a solid hit with critics at every show from the People's Choice Awards to the VMAs, which is a pretty huge deal. Heck, she even walked away with a Style Icon honor at the Teen Choice Awards this year.

Fashion

It's only fitting that she would start a fashion line herself, which she also did this year (word to Brit, not finding any time in your busy schedule to sleep is actually dangerous). Spears debuted Intimate Collection, an entire lingerie and swimsuit line for the spring and summer. But aside from the stunning looks and the killer business ventures, we can't forget what makes the savvy businesswoman the most dangerous force to be reckoned with: her music.

Vegas Residency Extension

Spears has recently added an entire two years on to her Las Vegas residency. Her ongoing show, Britney Spears: Piece of Me, has apparently been so successful that she has been able to not only extend it but also reportedly received more money in light of this extension. She reportedly had a $30 million per two year deal before, and according to TMZ, that number now has an additional $5 million tacked on to it for the next couple of years.

Obviously, Spears is a danger to the Internet because there are so many big things happening for her. And naturally, fans and followers want to keep up with all of it (not an easy feat!). Let's hope next year, Spears will still be keeping up the pace, but that cyber criminals will be left in the dust.
