Anne Hathaway Makes Monochrome Interesting

by Kali Borovic

When it comes to rocking all black, the possibilities are endless, and Anne Hathaway's The Intern press tour ensembles certainly prove that. She chose to wear the color for both the US and UK premieres of the new film, but the gowns were actually completely different. It's hard for me to choose one style that I like better than the other, so you'll have to decide for yourself with the below comparison.

Heading into fall, Hathaway's premiere ensembles shows that black can be anything that you want it to be. She showed up to the UK event looking lovely in black lace Jonathan Simkhai with a sleek and effortless silhouette. Her earrings added a pop of green, while her slicked back 'do added an edgy touch to the ladylike yet modern outfit.

Hathaway also chose to go all black for the US premiere, to which she wore an unexpected asymmetrical dress by Rodarte that left everyone talking about her amazing style. Though the color was simple, the dress had tons of details — everything from a sheer sleeve to peacock feathers.

It's clear from Hathaway's latest red carpet looks that nailing the perfect dark vibe is all about styling. Here's how she rocked two completely different all-black looks.

Here she took the opposite approach, balancing out her edgy look with soft, flowing locks.

Rocking a soft lip and light eyeliner, Hathaway kept her makeup subtle.

Her smokey eye took the outfit to a new level with just a little extra eyeliner.

Hathaway shows that the key to making monochrome interesting is all in the details!
