Get Inspired By The Kardashians' Tattoos

by Michelle McGahan

Cosmopolitan boldly declared the Kardashian-Jenners "America's First Family" on one of their recent covers and if that's the case, they're America's First Family chock-full o' tattoos. Not that you'd necessarily notice. Apart from Rob Kardashian, the Kardashian-Jenner family's tattoos are all fairly delicate, well-hidden, and subtle. And, to be fair, not everyone in the family is inked. Kim and Kourtney Kardashian are famously tattoo-less, with Kim telling her tatted-up sisters that getting a tattoo is like putting "a bumper sticker on a Bentley." (They didn't listen.) Still, when it comes to ink inspiration (and yes, even cautionary tales), look no further than the Kardashian-Jenners. Because, like everything else they do, sometimes their ink is classy and yeah, sometimes it can be a mistake.

Let's break it down: Though Kim and Kourtney don't have any ink to speak of, the rest of the Kardashian-Jenner clan knows a thing or two about tattoos. Though the youngest Jenners (that'd be Kendall and Kylie) opted to go for some elegantly subtle ink, Khloé, Rob, and yes, even Kris Jenner got a little more bold in their choices. In need of some ink inspiration? Take a look at the Kardashian-Jenner's choices (and regrets) below.

Khloé Kardashian

When Khloé was 16, she decided to honor her late father with a "Daddy" tattoo on her lower back. Later referring to the tat as a "tramp stamp," she was unhappy with the placement of the tribute, so she got it removed. And, of course, she live-streamed the entire thing, which you can check out above. You know, for your viewing pleasure and all.

But besides the "Daddy" tramp stamp, Khloé also honored her late father in a more aesthetically appealing way, choosing to get the phrase "I love you" in her dad's handwriting inked on her wrist. A solid choice, indeed:

Of course, Khloé also famously has her ex-husband Lamar Odom's initials tattooed on the inside of her hand. Though these are subtle (and actually flawlessly done), it might be time to retire the "L.O." She could change it to "LOVE," or, as Wetpaint pointed out, even "YOLO." I know which one I'd pick.

Kendall Jenner

Both of Kendall's tattoos are white and inked on her fingers. Her first tat, a simple white dot, is a reminder that "it's the little things that matter," her tattoo artist JonBoy told Refinery29. "And the white color was because she didn’t want it to show with modeling and all that."

Kendall later went for the same color ink with bestie Hailey Baldwin, opting to get the white broken heart tatted on her middle finger, while Hailey went for red:

Kylie Jenner

Kylie inked the tiniest of red hearts onto her upper arm. Though some speculated that she got this tat in honor of her boyfriend, Tyga, it's actually a friendship tat that she shares with several of her other girlfriends:

I'm personally not a huge fan of the placement, but love the tattoo itself. It's super subtle and feminine, and just the right amount of badass.

Kris Jenner

Yes, even Kris is sporting some ink! According to the youngest Kardashian sister, the Kardashian family matriarch went out and got matching tattoos with Khloé and Nicole Richie, choosing to ink the same elaborate cross. I'm going to assume she went out and danced like this afterwards.

Rob Kardashian

The only male in the Kardashian clan, Rob Kardashian is pretty much adorned with tattoos. In addition to nicely done portraits of both of his parents, the sock designer also sports his ex-girlfriend Adrienne Bailon's name across his ribs. Yikes?
