Alexander Wang's Final Balenciaga Bow Was Epic

by Marc Cuenco

After a successful three year run, Alexander Wang's final Balenciaga show ended with an epic final jog down the runway. The young designer took to social media to document his finale by taking over the label's Instagram and even taking selfies on the catwalk. Wang's goodbye to Balenciaga was bittersweet, but he made it totally memorable and truly fun to watch.

For his final appearance as the creative director of Balenciaga, Wang wore black Yeezy Boost 350s and carried his cell phone to capture every second of his finale. The audience — made up of magazine editors, bloggers, and celebrities — witnessed a piece of fashion history as Wang closed out the Balenciaga spring/summer 2016 show during Paris Fashion Week by jumping, twirling, and running throughout the venue to "California Love" by 2Pac. At one point, the designer almost fell into one of the pools on the runway as he tried to take one of several selfies.

“We are all just very, very proud of Alexander,” Anna Wintour told The New York Times . “We were thrilled when he got this position and continue to be excited about what he does next. But it’s always a delight to see an American succeed and grow in Paris in the way that he has.”
