'AHS' & 'Scream Queens' Could Be Connected

By now, it's common knowledge that all AHS seasons are connected in one way or another. But is there a chance that these interweaving storylines extend beyond just one Ryan Murphy franchise? More specifically, is it possible that American Horror Story: Hotel is somehow connected to Scream Queens ? I know the idea may, at first, seem a little too outrageous to consider. I mean, having different seasons of the same show link together is one thing, but having it happen between two very different shows is quite another concept entirely. Then again, when has logic and reason ever stopped Murphy from doing something outrageously awesome before? But if you take some time to actually think about it, you'll discover that these two thrillers could potentially share more common ground than you would think.

For starters, there's the fact that Emma Roberts will appear in both shows this season. Not only does she star on Scream Queens as the uber Queen Bee, Chanel Oberlin, but she's also set to guest star in an unknown AHS: Hotel role later this season. Who's to say that those two characters won't overlap in some way? In fact, I wouldn't completely rule out the possibility that she'll appear as Chanel who perhaps frequents the Hotel Cortez during spring break or summer vacation. Look, I'm not saying this is definitely going to happen, but knowing Murphy's love for shocking twists, I definitely wouldn't write the idea off as impossible, especially since both shows are taking place in the present day.

Then there's Lady Gaga's character to consider — a never-aging vampire-like creature who has the habit of collecting children and raising them to commit murder. What if the bathtub baby turned out to be one of the children from the hotel? She was able to abduct Det. John Lowe's son right out from underneath his nose, so what's to say that she couldn't nab a tiny baby whose parents were either dead or MIA? Maybe she's the one who either turned the bathtub baby into the Red Devil or connected the child to said killer in order to exact revenge on the sorority that destroyed her chance at happiness.

On the other hand, if we're just looking for any type of AHS-Scream Queens connection in general, then there definitely is one, and I have some concrete evidence to back it up. While it's common knowledge that the Red Devil will eventually turn out to be someone we know, right now the mascot ensemble is being worn by a stuntman named Riley Schmidt. Why is this significant, you may ask? Well, it turns out that this isn't the first villainous costume Schmidt has donned for a Ryan Murphy show. You see, before it was revealed that Evan Peters' character, Tate, was the Rubber Man in Murder House, Schmidt was the original wearer of that infamous rubber suit. Pretty crazy, right? Well, it gets even weirder when you see just how attractive this guy is…

See what I mean? Seems like the biggest crime that's being committed here is how Murphy refuses to show off this guy's face. Those masks have been robbing us of some serious eye candy for years. But there you have it, folks. Rubber Man and the Red Devil are really one in the same. (In a stunt-double-type capacity, of course, but still!) I guarantee that you'll never think of either masked figure in the same way again. You're welcome.
