Julia Roberts Reminds Us To Wear Our Blazers

Julia Roberts is the kind of woman that really exemplifies the saying "less is more" with her understated and simple looks that always turn out to be the most elegant. And at the Hammer Museum Gala, this sentiment rang true when Julia Roberts wore a menswear-inspired blazer over her colorful dress, making the tuxedo blazer a must-have item for the fall season.

Roberts wore this ensemble at the Hammer Museum's 13th Annual Gala at the Garden, which honored Diane Keaton. She wore a Bottega Veneta outfit that her husband, Danny Moder, actually picked out, according to InStyle. Now that's a partner with good style!

Roberts paired the jacket with black pumps and a black clutch, keeping the whole look simple and elegant. Of course, her dress underneath gave just enough of a pop to keep our eyes interested. Gotta love a colorful lace combination. Roberts called Keaton a style icon, and that "Nobody has ever done it better than she has," referring to the menswear trend.

I've got to say, both these ladies rock this trend like pros. The best part? It's seasonally appropriate. As temperatures drop, it's only natural that we throw on a coat over our dresses — why not make it a coat with a more masculine silhouette? Plus, the tuxedo look was all over New York Fashion Week, most notably Marisa Webb's incredible Spring/Summer 2016 collection.
