Khloé Releases Statement About Lamar
On Tuesday, Oct. 13, two-time NBA champion Lamar Odom was hospitalized after being found unconscious at a Nevada brothel. In the time since, Odom has made what his family called "miraculous progress" in a statement. And on Monday, he was moved from a Las Vegas hospital to a Los Angeles medical facility. It's been widely reported that his ex, Khloé Kardashian, has been by his side as he's began recovery, and Tuesday, she released a statement about Odom on her website.
The past week has been incredibly difficult. I am so thankful to family, friends and fans, who have sent nothing but prayers and well wishes to Lamar. I also want to take a moment to thank everyone at Sunrise Hospital, including the amazing doctors and nurses for their kindness and diligent work. Under their amazing care, incredible strides have been made. You can never be prepared for an experience like this, but without the outpouring of love and endless prayers that Lamar has received and the strength I was given from my loved ones, it would have been difficult to endure. Odom and Kardashian were married for six years, with their wedding televised on E!'s Keeping Up with the Kardashians. Odom appeared frequently on the show during their marriage, and from 2011 to 2012, the couple starred in their own spinoff, Khloe & Lamar. Throughout their time together, there were rumors of trouble, and in 2013, Kardashian filed for divorce. But according to E! News, the divorce has not yet been finalized by a judge.
Although they're no longer together, Kardashian and Odom have not stopped showing support for each other -- a recent example being her comments about him in Complex this past August. Addressing their relationship, she revealed that the duo still speak often, and that she still considers Odom "one of the best people" she's ever met.
"I think Lamar's gonna always be that person [for me] but that’s what made it so special," Kardashian said. "Even if I had it for five years or whatever, it was the best ever and I’m grateful I did. Some people don’t get that ever and I had that magic for a long time."
