Drake Gets Some New Ink

by Maitri Suhas

Drizzy Drake has some new ink. The 28-year-old's friend and fan U.K. rapper Skepta shared a photo of Drake's new tattoo on his own Instagram page. It's a sweet little thing in classic tattoo script on Drake's left shoulder that reads "BBK," and some fans might be wondering what exactly it means.

Well, BBK stands for Boy Better Know. So, what's Boy Better Know? It's the label that MC Skepta started with his own brother MC JME. Skepta posted a photo of Drake's tattoo on his 'gram, tagging Drizzy Drake (though who wouldn't recognize that beard and that 6 god shirt) with the caption "More than music. OVO BBK family for Life." OVO is, duh, October's Very Own, Drake's own crew and label.

Drake and Skepta have loved each other for quite some time. Champagne Papi used one of Skepta's verses on his song "Used To" from his mixtape If You're Reading This, It's Too Late. "Shout out to the Gs from the ends, We don't live no girls from the ends" is a Skepta line. Drizzy thanked Skepta in the handwritten liner notes for the mixtape.

And Skepta likes to sample his boy Drizzy, too. He recently used a sample from Drake's amazing track "Jungle" on a blistering track called "SHUTDOWN" from his upcoming album, #Konnichiwa. As The Fader notes, the track "finds the sharp-footed MC spelling out his come up, while also signaling what he's up against." Skepta said of the song, "Big up my bro Drake on the sample, trust me listen." (You should definitely listen — the track is here on SoundCloud).

Aubrey's not the only one who loves Skepta. Kanye has caught on to the talents of the BBK MC from across the pond, too, giving him shoutout in his performance of "All Day" at the Brit Awards in March. So far, the sampling is the only collaboration between OVO's Drizzy and BBK's Skepta, but judging by the tattoo, it seems like their romance has only just begun. Maybe Drake's next collaboration album will be with Skepta — someone's got to follow Future.
