How To Dress Like Prince George For Halloween

by Maitri Suhas

Halloween is coming up quickly, and if you still need some last-minute and topical inspiration, why not use royal baby Prince George for Halloween costume inspiration? The tiny heir to the British throne has been seriously stylin' on ya for two years now, and his looks make for an an easy and adorable costume for anyone who loves the royal baby. And even though Prince George's tiny, dainty socks and shoes probably cost more than your student loan payments, don't worry: you can emulate some of his looks on the cheap. There are more than a few to choose from, but my personal fave tiny stylish royal look is Prince George's outfit from his baby sister Charlotte's christening

If you really wanna get into the group costume spirit with this one, recruit some of your friends to dress up like dad Prince William and beautiful and impeccably-dressed mom Kate Middleton. But Prince George is already recognizable on his own for this costume to be a hit. Also, it's an opportunity to talk about how monarchies are totally wack in 2015, but still, he is just so gosh-darn adorable. And don't forget: the most important element of this costume is that curmudgeon-y, grumpy little old man look that some how appears on such a sweet little baby.

Let's get started!

The Vintage Look

Fun fact: Prince George is totally reviving his dad's style from the '80s, and this look he wore to Charlotte's christening is so vintage adorable. And you just need a few pieces to make it your own. First, a vintage-inspired white peter pan collar blouse. Grab this one from Hey Viv! for just $10.

To get that cute smocked-embroidery look, grab some rick-rack and fabric glue and make the pattern across the chest. Easy peasy! This trim from Etsy is next to nothing — $1.99 for 2.5 yards.

Gotta rock those red shorts! Here are some adorable ones from Forever 21, on sale for $9.99, that you can wear long after Halloween into the holiday season.

And it's an excuse to buy these simple, versatile and adorable Mary Janes from Urban Outfitters for $16 — or two for $20!

Annnnd I know he doesn't wear a crown, but hey, he's a prince after all, and this is Halloween, so pop that royal headgear on! You'll look regal, but it will only run you about $7 if you use this crown from Amazon.

And there you have it! Make sure to frown a lot, and do some half-hearted royal waves to everyone in your kingdom. Have a lovely, regal, princely Halloween!
